Denver Chant Fest 2013 Wellness Presenters

Bryn has been practicing yoga for over a decade and teaching since 2003.  In 2010 she co-founded and opened Yogamaya Yoga Studio in New York City, merging her love of Asana & Bhakti practices.  Yogamaya has quickly been established as the hottest newcomer to the Yoga scene in New York City, as well as THE go-to place of Bhakti for Yogis.

Bryn’s teaching is deeply devotional, transportive and transformational.  Fun, but far from frivolous, she is known for her entertaining personality and dropping unexpected and salient truths along the path of a creative and challenging asana class, always set to an inspired soundtrack.  Her life basically surrounds her love of her two baby’s, her dog Bill, and Yogamaya.  She was very honored to be a speaker in this amazing film and looks forward to introducing it to the Denver area. Manoj has given keynote lectures at Yoga festivals and teaches at Yoga Journal conferences, studios, ashrams and universities. He has also compiled a book on Hindu and Buddhist Symbology.

Manoj uses humor, stories, and anecdotes in his talks on Mythology, Vedanta and Tantra. He grew up in India, attended the Indian Institute of Technology and also received a doctorate in Chemical Physics from Cornell University. He was at first consumed with the pursuit of fame and money until at one point he realized that although his life was moving forward, he was not going anywhere. Manoj soon came to realize that his calling in life was to embrace his roots: the rich Indian spirituality and philosophy and the Spiritual art which he now imports from India.

Jyothi has been practicing the puja ritual since she was seven years old. Having grown up in a traditional and spiritual family in India, she has a deep and personal connection with her Indian heritage. Because of this, Jyothi has maintained a high level of devotion throughout her life.

To further develop her spirituality, Jyothi began studying Vedanta, the crux of Indian philosophy, in 2007. After embarking on this spiritual journey, she has committed herself to studying Vedanta for four hours a day and has successfully aligned her mental and emotional spirit with Vedantic teachings.

Jyothi has also been learning the art of spiritual singing since the age of four. She specializes in South Indian Classical Music, or Carnatic music. She has learned from many top musicians in India, and has given many concerts in both India and the U.S, including many performances on All India Radio. One type of song that Jyothi specializes in is the bhajan, or the kirtan. These songs are more closer to folk songs and provide a deep connection to higher spiritual grounds.

Kids Kirtan

The world of wide eyed, childlike wonder that is so essential to the path of Bhakti is not always that easily attainable to us highly educated, ‘spiritual’ adults. But as you mommies and daddies know, we can let our kids help us! Come to Kaia Yoga for an afternoon of “Kiddie Kirtan, heartful and simple Indian chanting for the little ones of all ages. Of course the drums, shakers and front row seats are reserved for the kids, but parents and older brothers and sisters are welcome – as long as they behave! See you there!!

This event is a party to celebrate Jai’s latest album, Kirtan Kids: The Elephant, the Monkey, and the Little Butter Thief, a wondrous collection of stories, chants and songs sung by, and for, our divine younger generation.
