Applications will be accepted for our 2015 event starting October 1, 2015.

Blessings Bhakta Seva Volunteer

Thank you for your interest in volunteering for the Denver Chant Fest.  We welcome and acknowledge how important it is for us to be able to create a space in which we can work together for the success of the Denver Chant Fest.  There are many ways to serve  as a volunteer and/or Ambassador.  Please take a look at each department to see where your special skills can be utilized, then fill out the application.  You will only be contacted if you are accepted to the Bhakta Seva Program.  Once accepted to the volunteer program, ALL volunteers must be able to meet Thursday Feb 13th at 8:00am for a 90 minute orientation and to receive their wrist bands.  If you can not make this initial meeting, you will not be accepted into the program.

If you wish to be considered as an Ambassador only, please note on your application in the comment box.  Only 25 people will be chosen for the Ambassador program.  If accepted to this special program, Denver Chant Fest will give you a special code in which to share with your community.  If the code is used 5 times you will get 50% off of your 3-day festival pass; if your code is used 10 times, then your pass will be FREE.


 

Volunteer Positions

Registration


Registration comprises of checking in the festival attendees, checking badges in the main hall, handling the yoga registration booth or working with checking in the vendors.  You will be assigned the specific area the day you check into your post. 

REQUIREMENTS:

1.   Be available to work on February 13th, 14th, 15th, 16th

2.  You must complete 10 hours of work (two shifts of approximately 5 hours each)

3.  ALL volunteers must be able to meet Thursday Feb 13th at 8:00am for a 90 minute orientation.  If you can not make this initial meeting, you will not be accepted into the program.

Flyer distribution


Flyer distribution comprises of making sure that all local yoga studios and other areas TBD have a stock of flyers.  This will also include delivering as well as weekly check for the month prior to the festival.  Must have transportation for this work exchange.

REQUIREMENTS:

1.   Be available to work TBD prior to the Festival.  Week of distribution will be assigned to you.  If you can not distribute during assigned week, you will be asked to give up your position.

2.  You must complete 4 different distributions between July 2013 and January 2014.

3. ALL volunteers must be able to meet Thursday Feb 13th at 8:00am for a 90 minute orientation.  If you can not make this initial meeting, you will not be accepted into the program.  For this position, it is to get your wrist band prior to the festival.

Green Team

The green team is responsible for managing all the trash and recycling throughout the festival and filling 5 gallon water bottles. This involves lifting bags out of trash bins and replacing water in the water stations, so please be mindful if you have back problems.

 REQUIREMENTS:

1.   Be available to work on February 13th, 14th, 15th, 16th

2.  You must complete 1 day during the Festival.  Times will vary throughout the day and you must be able to stay after the last act of each day.

3. ALL volunteers must be able to meet Thursday Feb 13th at 8:00am for a 90 minute orientation.  If you can not make this initial meeting, you will not be accepted into the program.

Yoga Hall and/or Bhakti Theatre Assistant


YHBTA will be in charge of checking people into yoga classes, guiding yogis into neat lines, helping the yoga teacher get everyone’s mats in order so we can use the room to its full capacity, and checking badges in front of the Bhakti Theatre. You must be very patient, be able to project your voice, and give directions. YHBTA will be 5 minutes late for each yoga class/and Kirtan to insure that all classes/Kirtan are properly set up.  Having previous experience in a yoga studio is recommended.

REQUIREMENTS:

1.   Be available to work on February 13th, 14th, 15th, 16th 

2.  You must complete 1 day during the Festival.  Times will vary throughout the day.

3. ALL volunteers must be able to meet Thursday Feb 13th at 8:00am for a 90 minute orientation.  If you can not make this initial meeting, you will not be accepted into the program

Stage Help


This position requires sound and stage experience. You will be tidying up the stage after performances and taking direction from the stage manager. Please mention if you are unwilling or unable to work after midnight in the extra comments box on the application. 

REQUIREMENTS:

1.   Be available to work on  February 13th, 14th, 15th, 16th 

2.  You must complete 1 load in or 1 load out, or 1 day at the Festival

3. ALL volunteers must be able to meet Thursday Feb 13th at 8:00am for a 90 minute orientation.  If you can not make this initial meeting, you will not be accepted into the program

Backstage Hospitality


This position requires hospitality experience. Catering experience is a plus. You will be taking direction from the Green Room Coordinator, who could have you doing anything to running an errand, decorating, cleaning up, or filling a cooler with delicious non-alcoholic drinks. Please mention if you are unwilling or unable to work after midnight in the extra comments box on the application.

 REQUIREMENTS:

1.   Be available to work on  February 13th, 14th, 15th, 16th 

2.  You must complete approximately 10 hours of work (two shifts of approximately 5 hours each)

3. ALL volunteers must be able to meet Thursday Feb 13th at 8:00am for a 90 minute orientation.  If you can not make this initial meeting, you will not be accepted into the program

Set-up & Break-down and Decoration


You will be helping the construction crew to build and break-down the festival. Work begins on  the morning of February 13th, 2014 and continues throughout the weekend.  If selected for this position, we will get in touch with you about exact arrival and departure information.

REQUIREMENTS:

1.   Be available to work on February 13th, 14th, 15th, 16th

2.  You must complete one day of set-up and 1 break-down

3.  ALL volunteers must be able to meet Thursday Feb 13th at 8:00am for a 90 minute orientation.  If you can not make this initial meeting, you will not be accepted into the program.

Artist Transportation

Artist Transportation is responsible for transporting artists/yoga teachers to/from the airport and taking them to/from their hotels. YOU MUST BE OVER 28 YEARS OF AGE TO APPLY FOR THIS POSITION.

REQUIREMENTS:

1.   MUST have valid CO driver’s license and current auto insurance

2. MUST have a vehicle that can hold up to 4 people with luggage and possible instruments like guitar, bass, and Harmoniums

2.  Be available to work on February 13th, 14th, 15th, 16th

3.  You will be responsible for the transportation needs of 1 yoga teacher and/or Bhakti artist.  This may mean you will need to miss a portion of the Festival to make an airport run

4. ALL volunteers must be able to meet Thursday Feb 13th at 8:00am for a 90 minute orientation.  If you can not make this initial meeting, you will not be accepted into the program.

Media Table Artist CD sales


Media table is responsible for manning the CD sales table that is primarily for the artists’ CD sales.  This person will be 5 minutes late to events day of work to secure the sales at the table.

REQUIREMENTS:

1.   Be available to work on  February 13th, 14th, 15th, 16th

2.  You must complete 1 day during the Festival

3.  ALL volunteers must be able to meet Thursday Feb 13th at 8:00am for a 90 minute orientation.  If you can not make this initial meeting, you will not be accepted into the program.

Personal assistant to the Co-Founder of Festival

Personal assistant to the Co-Founder is responsible for a multitude of duties.  You will be required to run errands, direct yoga teachers and/or musicians, troubleshoot, and basic assistant duties.  You must be comfortable with working with the public in a professional manner and have a cell phone.

REQUIREMENTS:

1.   Be available to work on February 13th, 14th, 15th, 16th

2.  You must complete 1 day during the Festival

3.  ALL volunteers must be able to meet Thursday Feb 13th at 8:00am for a 90 minute orientation.  If you can not make this initial meeting, you will not be accepted into the program.

Bhakti Bar Coffee and Tea Vendor Booth

You will be manning the Bhakti Bar and Coffee/Tea booth in the Vendor Village.  Work begins on  the morning of February 13th, 2014.  If selected for this position, we will get in touch with you about exact arrival and departure information.

REQUIREMENTS:

1.   Be available to work on February 13th, 14th, 15th, 16th

2.  You must complete approximately 10 hours of work (two shifts of approximately 5 hours each)

3.  ALL volunteers must be able to meet Thursday Feb 13th at 8:00am for a 90 minute orientation.  If you can not make this initial meeting, you will not be accepted into the program.

Gift Bag Stuffer

Gift Bag Stuffer will need to be available for one FULL day shift in which you organize, stuff and pack our gift bags.  This position is PRIOR to the festival on Feb 12th, 2014.  If you are not available to work the entire 10 hour shift on Feb 12th, please do not apply for this position.  Once duties are done of Feb 12th, you will have fulfilled the requirement to gain a full access pass to the 3 day weekend.

REQUIREMENTS:

1.   Be available to work on February 12th from 10am- 8pm.

2.  Your duties will be complete after Feb 12th and will be be able to attend the entire festival

3.  ALL volunteers must be able to meet Thursday Feb 13th at 8:00am for a 90 minute orientation.  If you can not make this initial meeting, you will not be accepted into the program.

 


Application
